If this tree is healthy, there is no reason to remove it. Our community is constantly under environmental attack. The Langston Place development will remove several mature trees. Even if new trees are planted there, it will be decades before they mature.

Since this street is in the Heritage Conservation Area, trees should be preserved. I question whether the application to remove the tree has an arborist report? What is the motive to remove the tree rather than prune it for example?
I also ask that we keep our existing mature trees - the loss of trees recently in Epping will have major effects on the microclimate and habitat for birds, as well as the amenity for people.

I am very tired of reading about applications for the removal of trees in Epping. If they are unhealthy, unsafe or having an impact on a homeowner's property, then that is fair. I can see no end the applications for removal of trees. I'm wondering if the council has considered the impact of this on the suburb. Why does this particular tree need to be removed?

I wholeheartedly agree. Please only approve the removal of trees if there is a good reason. Pruning can often be sufficient. I have heard it said that many are removed because the leaves are a nuisance when they fall!

I object to the removal of this tree. It has been a comon practice for many years to manage trees near power lines by prunning them. Why has this practice changed? This tree is also in a Heritage Conservation Area and adds to the streetscape so should be preserved.
