I object to this development due to the issue of the small blocks in what is a traditional semi-rural area. This area of Jones Road now has flooding occuring during heavy rainfall. The development leads straight onto a main road. There are only two main roads in Bellbird Park. Jones Road is now a main road, however is not designed to be a main road from Brennan Street. All these cars are causing a lot of commuter chaos in the mornings and afternoons, making it very difficult for school children to cross this road now. Can the developer make the blocks bigger and ensure that they are not duplexes as in the Tamatea Drive and Udis street development. These developments are all rentals with three bedrooms and one garage on one side of the house and one bedroom one garage on the other side. It looks like a normal house but is actually a duplex. These duplexes have been done all through the new developments at Bellbird Park. They are not houses they are townhouses. Is this development going to be the same? The Tamatea Street development just of Jones Road has residents cars parked all over the nature strip. It is hazardous now to walk down that road. These smaller developments with small blocks are ruining the character of Bellbird Park. This is supposed to be a bushland semi rural suburb not a duplex city or small lot housing. There is hardly any public transport nearby and only leads to either Orion or Goodna. Developers do not have the right to change the character of a suburb in order to make some money. There is also the question of native wildlife that will be affected. Also a drainage area is a concern. The one just up the road on Jones Road is now full of litter, and environmental catastrophe right opposite the Moodai Reserve. The Moodai reserve is there because of endangered species including Frogs - has there been any environmental study done on this block? Those spotted Frogs just aren't in Moodai Reserve, they are in Happy Jack Gully and throughout Bellbird Park. As are Koalas and Kangaroos.
