Thankyou for the opportunity to comment on this DA. I am concerned about the appropriateness of the development, especially in the context of local character. It appears the intention is to build a new 2 story dwelling with basement car park.
This small street, only 1 block long, has a very attractive heritage-rich streetscape due to 12 of the 15 houses retaining their original bungalow facades and brick fences. Many of the homes have retained most original features including bay windows, expert brickwork including contrast bricks, geometrical forms and sandstone features, lead light casement windows and front porches with brick columns. Some houses have had additions but have largely maintained the bungalow facades and frontages. Most homes have garaging at the rear of the property. A new 2 storey house, with basement garage, along with the presumed demolition of the existing original bungalow, is to my mind totally inconsistent with the prevailing built form and will significantly devalue the streetscape and modest heritage flavour of this small street.

Very sad to see such a beautiful house destroyed.
