Council should investigate further into allowing this business to operate within Bardwell Park. Jane Bardwell Park Massage is just another front for a brothel. Having gone through the Statement of Environment Effects, qualification documents are false. Council has allowed 3 remedial massages to open up in Bardwell Park all at the same time. Jane Bardwell Park Massage, Orchid Spa and Massage two doors down and another one which is a professional and legit business on the corner. The two thai massage businesses operate between the hours of 10 am - 10 pm - if they were legit businesses why the need to open such long and abnormal hours? Internals have fixed walls which is illegal. It is time Council prohibited such businesses especially since there are 2 schools within 100 metres. It has ruined the village of Bardwell Park.

I agree with the above poster. There is an obscure amount of massage parlors in the area of Bardwell Park alone which is highly unusual. Is there any evidence that these so called "massage parlors" are beneficial to the public or seen as just more undercover brothels? It is also a safety concern for the community. It's unthinkable to have three different massage parlors on the exact same street without wondering if something more than massages are going on behind the scenes. Are we turning into an 18th century suburb?

Three remedial massage parlours all open within one month of each other on the same street. One is open within normal business hours of 9-5 however, the other 'dubious' two, Jane Bardwell Park Massage and Palms Thai Day Spa and Massage need to be open 7 days a week from 10am-9pm and have flashing red neon signs saying they are open for business?. Can somebody from Bayside Council explain to me that if these two businesses (who incidentally since opening I have yet to see anybody walk in) are legit, then why the need to work 7 days a week and such long hours? Bayside Council are elected members representing their constituents and need to pay attention to the types of businesses opening up that damage the landscape and identity of our community and suburbs.

I see that the Palms Thai Day Spa and Massage business has closed down. I can only put it down to them opening up without the correct permits. THANK YOU Bayside Council. Also, following comments from above, I have looked into Jane Bardwell Park Massage's Statement of Environment Effects. They are not qualified remedial massage therapists. They have obtained credentials from the NSW Business College which is a private college and not a reputable educational institution. If this college was a legit and honest business, they would show on their website the Management of the company and they do not disclose this. ASIC should look into them as they are simply overseas private companies running an education scam for students to work in our country.

Hello Adam J, Palms Thai Day Spa closed down because it was raided by the police a week or so ago.

    To Bayside Council,

I noticed that the Palms Thai Day Spa (5 Hartill-Law Avenue, Bardwell Park) has reopened with no shop signs or anything. If the police raided these premises when they opened under the Palms Thai Day Spa with sniffer dogs supposedly, then why are they allowed to re-open for business under 'no name'?? Nothing has changed in my eyes. My suburb is not part of some third world country where anybody and anything goes. I surely do NOT want my property to devalue in price.

There should be rules where shop owners and business owners ensure the village of the suburb maintains a certain type of decorum, individuality and identity. And this begins with the Council. Three massage parlours within 20 metres of one another on the same side of the street is too excessive let alone damaging to the suburb esp as two are dubious businesses. Dubious? yes....why the need to be open 7 days a week from 10 am to 10 pm??!

The Palms Thai Day spa that has NO NAME at the moment, looks dubious especially how the front window is covered by a large bamboo divider which is a health hazard let alone it looks some backyard operation.

I will be taking this up directly with the Council as well as notifying the NSW Govt and Radio networks about the deplorable way that Councils allow such businesses to open up in our suburbs which are simply fronts for dubious businesses.

Time that Bayside Council put their Constituents first and ensured that our suburbs' identity and character is maintained. Given the rates that we are all charged to pay, Councils should be doing more for the residents of the suburb and simply not neglecting their concerns and allowing such shop owners to open such businesses who do not even live in the area.
