    To Whom it may concern,

I am writing regarding the submitted plans for 66 Grand Parade, Bonnells Bay, 2264. I have only just been alerted to the plans being submitted, by a neighbour, and understand that comments regarding the plans have closed. I am not sure why our house was not contacted by Council regarding these plans being on display as any changes to this property will impact on our current water views which would then lead to devaluation of our property.

Point 1: Trees - large trees being planted at the front of the property or along Macquarie street side of the property will impact on our current views - the reason we purchased our property. We do not want our property to be devalued due to lack of water views. Smaller shrubs or bushes that would not block views would be better.

Point 2: Parking - During construction where will the workers be parking their vehicles. We have small children and do not wish to have a large number of vehicles coming up and down our road or blocking access.

Post construction - parking on the plans is currently a carport. Is this sufficient to accommodate all workers that will come and go? I have not been able to locate the hours workers or family members would be coming and going from the property. We do not wish to have our children's sleep disturbed due to coming and going of vehicles at all hours. Inline with this, there appears to be no additional parking allocated for visitation, there is currently no safe street side parking available on Macquarie Street, Bonnells Bay. This street also has a number of people walking on it to and from the park through out the day. A parking area located on Grand Parade would make more sense as there would be no houses opposite this parking area, or council could make parking available on the reserve side of the road if needed.

Point 3: Fencing - A high fence will impact on our views which would devalue our property.

Point 4: Security - When the residents move into 66 Grand Parade, will there be a meet and greet of sorts, so that we can get to know who the residents are. This would help break down barriers, and if for some reason we see them outside of the property without a career accompanying them we can alert the residence. I have small children and there safety is of utmost concern to me. Currently my children are free to play outside around the house, I hope that they can continue to do this.

Point 5: Roofing - Zinc Alum roofing is extremely reflective and would impede on our views of the lake on sunny days. A colourbond coloured roof would be a better choice and less reflective.

Point 6: Information and Communication - We have never received any form of communication about this development and we look directly into the current back yard of 66 Grand Parade from our living room and down to the water. We would be opposed of any interruption of our views by changes made to this property.

The above points are my main concerns, a while this is a late response to the development proposal, we were never informed by council of this application plan.

    Kind regards,
    Jacomina Harrison

We have lodged a submission but only became aware of the application when the planning alert came through - before that there was no consultation, information or anything provided to us, yet we live opposite the property in Macquarie Street. I requested extension to the submission deadline (a week was granted) as was aware of another interested party away on holidays. The Council & developers have put no signage on the property & gave residents who were directly impacted no notice, which is appalling considering the type of development & proposed residents.

Since our submission was lodged we have met with a representative of BluChp & the site health managers - whilst the meeting was relatively informative & we voiced our concerns, we are still waiting to hear back of any amendments or actions.

We hope that the residents affected by this development are given due consideration and changes to the current development application are made. We too have rights and have invested in our homes and lifestyle and do not want to be "trampled over" by parties who are also making"big bucks" out of the wider group home developments in this area.
